Dedicated, Instrumental School Leader Retires
Earlier this week, Westbury's Class of 2003 bid farewell to the school district they have called home for over a decade. On June 30, Mary Ellen Haynes, principal of Westbury Middle School, will retire and say goodbye to the district she too has called home.

School Donations Go a Long Way
Carle Place Middle/High School has always been blessed with people who are willing to donate time, energy and/or gifts to benefit their children and their school. Our interscholastic athletic program has continued to receive tremendous support from the community. People in the Carle Place School District are proud to be "Frog" supporters. The Carle Place Athletic Booster Club has been the main contributor for the past two decades. Community member and parent Matt Berrell has done a great job donating weight equipment, treadmills, stairmasters and a variety of other needed equipment to the school's weight and cardio rooms. Matt even services most of the equipment as a further act of generosity.

NYIT Bears Run Away With Lacrosse National Championship
The New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Bears' perfect season has come to a perfect conclusion. The undefeated (14-0) Bears beat the Limestone College Saints 9-4 for the Division II men's lacrosse national championship - the powerhouse program's second championship in four national championship games over the last ten seasons. Senior Matt Hunter was spectacular in goal, making 12 saves while earning Most Outstanding Player honors.
