CWCA to Pay Tribute to Ann Sweat
Residents and local politicians will gather next Saturday to honor Ann Sweat for her years of dedication and commitment to the Westbury community at the Central Westbury Civic Association's (CWCA) third annual tribute. The event, which will take place on June 14, will benefit the civic association's John Burnett Scholarship Fund.

DEC Proposes Remedial Plan for New Cassel groundwater
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, June 12, to present its proposal for remediation of groundwater contamination from the New Cassel Industrial Area. The meeting will be held at the East Meadow School District Administrative Center, 718 The Plain Road in Westbury, at 7:30 p.m.

The Race Is On for Triathlon Entries
The Town of Hempstead Triathlon is now registering for its 20th annual competition. A compelling contest of running, swimming and biking, Triathlon 2003 will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 in Town Park Point Lookout. Entry applications are now available through the town parks department at 292-9000, ext. 219.
