Supervisor Newburger Does Not Choose to Run
Town of North Hempstead Supervisor May W. Newburger announced last week that she will not seek a sixth term in November. "It's time," she said in an interview on Friday, April 25. "I have the same feeling I had in Albany." She was referring to her decision not to run for a fifth term in the New York State Assembly. It was after she stepped down from the Assembly that she ran successfully for the North Hempstead Town Board. When the North Hempstead supervisor Ben Zwirn chose to run for Nassau County Executive, Ms. Newburger succeeded him as supervisor.

Miller Scott to Receive Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen Award
Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi recently announced that Margaret Miller-Scott of Westbury will receive the Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen award. Miller-Scott will be honored at the 29th Annual Senior Citizen Month Luncheon/Conference on May 9 at the Long Island Marriott Hotel in Uniondale. The Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs expects more than 650 senior citizens and members of the professional aging network to attend the event.

Bolden Adds ECAC All Star Status to SUNY Post Season Awards Collection
Add 2003 Division III ECAC All Star to the list of achievements earned this season by SUNY College at Old Westbury student-athlete Jon Bolden. The 6'4" junior guard from Newport News, Virginia, has been named to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Metro Region Second Team after averaging 18.5 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game for the Old Westbury Panthers.
