I am writing to urge all residents of the Town of North Hempstead to vote

"Yes" in the special election to be held on Tuesday, April 29.

On that date, town residents have the opportunity to implement important election reform by adopting council districts in the election of town board members. Council districts will ensure that all town residents are properly represented in town government, and that every community in the town has a forceful advocate on the town board. This can be done without any increase in the cost of government. It is a better form of government and the right thing to do.

Council districts are supported by Newsday, the Long Island Neighborhood Network and scores of civic groups and associations. I urge all my fellow residents to vote "Yes" on both Proposition 1 and Proposition 2.
