The Long Island Classic, a PGA Tour Champions Tour is looking for volunteers for many interesting jobs during tournament week. The annual event, now in its 17th year, will be held Aug. 11-17 and for the first time be played at the Red Course at Eisenhower Park (East Meadow). Defending Champion Hubert Green will compete in a full field of 81 Champions Tour professionals for a $1.5 million purse.

Volunteers are needed for the following committee: Transportation (cars will be provided), Marshals, Standard Bearers, Media Center, Hospitality, Admissions/Will Call and Office Help. Training is provided prior to the tournament.

Please note: As at other professional golf tournaments, volunteers must purchase the volunteer golf shirt and golf cap at the wholesale price of $45. In appreciation, volunteers receive a volunteer badge (good for admission all week), two season ticket booklets (for volunteers to distribute to family and friends) and lunch/snack on the days they volunteer.

For a volunteer application or for additional information, please call Lauralee Miller at the tournament office at 1-(631) 753-4357 or visit www.longislandclassic.pgatour.com.
