Thomas E. Christman, an adjunct professor of finance at St. John's University, is being honored for his work on behalf of the nonprofit, state-of-the-art television and production facility of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Christman devotes his time as a member of the Telecare's Board of Trustees, Catholic Healthcare Services of Long Island, St. Francis Hospital and is a former board chairman of St. Francis Hospital. Christman has served on numerous other charitable boards and on the boards of several public corporations. Presently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of State Bank of Long Island.
Due to the popularity of the golf outing, which raises funds for the nonprofit, values-oriented television and production facility, the event is held simultaneously at four of Long Island's preeminent golf courses. To accommodate the over 500 golfers, classic participants may choose from the Creek and Piping Rock Clubs in Locust Valley, Jericho's Meadow Brook Club or the Pine Hollow Country Club in East Norwich.
"I am consistently struck by the care and generosity of so many individuals and companies who work so hard to support Telecare's Golf Classic," said Monsignor Hartman. "Their desire to make Long Island a better place is inspiring."
