Salvator C. Milone, 86, died peacefully at his home on March 2, 2003, after a short illness. Beloved husband of Rose (Iannotti) Milone. Loving brother of Millie Verro of Peekskill, NY. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Salvator was a US Army veteran of WWII and took part in the invasion of North Africa, where he earned the Distinguished Medal of Honor, the Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. Later, he fought in the Sicilian Campaign where he earned the Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart. He settled in Westbury with his wife, in 1948, where they continued to live during their 55 years of marriage. He was retired from the US Post Office.
