Westbury author Howard Blue recently published Words at War: World War II Era Radio Drama and the Postwar Broadcasting Industry Blacklist, a non-fiction depiction of how radio helped the American World War II effort. Words at War, which was released late last year under Scarecrow Press, is Blue's first published book.
Christian Robledo, a junior at The Wheatley School, has established himself as the finest swimmer to have ever represented Wheatley. Christian earned his third consecutive trip to the New York State Swimming Championship Meet with two first place finishes in the 100-and 200-yard freestyle events at the State Qualifying Meet held at the Nassau County Aquatics Center on Feb. 24. In that meet, Christian established a Nassau County record in the 100 free with a time of 45.72 seconds and was victorious in the 200 yard freestyle event as well.
