I would like to commend the Westbury School District, its teachers, administrators, parents and, most of all, students for the memorable performance by Westbury High School and Middle School students at Carnegie Hall on Feb. 7. As a contrast to the usual negative publicity that the district receives, this was an opportunity to share with the community one of the many positive activities taking place in the district.

The student dress and behavior was impeccable, as was their performance. Each selection by the band, chamber orchestra and chorus was entertaining and professional. Many parents, students and community members were present for the event.

As the only high school on Long Island to be invited to this high school music festival at Carnegie Hall, the students deserve a round of applause. Congratulations!
