The Skyline Conference is honoring Old Westbury women's volleyball with a Sportsmanship Award for 2002. It is the first team award ever for Lady Panther Volleyball. Conference Publicist Kim McNulty announced the selection, which was determined by voting among conference coaches. The award to the team, coached by Keri-Ann Boller, also marks the first time any College at Old Westbury athletic team has been recognized for sportsmanship.

Old Westbury junior midfielder Chikwe Azinge of Brooklyn and junior forward Abdul Sanni of the Bronx received Men's Soccer First Team All-Conference recognition last week from the Skyline Conference.

Azinge led the Old Westbury Panthers in goals scored with 11, including a game winner in sudden death overtime against Staten Island on Sept. 10, two goals and two assists against Baruch College on Oct. 28 and three goals against Purchase College on Oct. 17. He also added four assists during 2002.

Sanni netted ten goals this season, including a three-goal performance against Baruch and a two-goal day against Yeshiva University on Oct. 27. He also had one assist.
