As the one-year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks approaches, local church and community organizations are planning memorials in remembrance of the day's tragic events. * A Special Memorial: Through Sept. 15, the church will be open Sunday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Community members are encouraged to pray for peace. Written intentions can be placed in the basket at the foot of the altar.

* Throughout the day, the schools will conduct solemn activities according to guidelines issued by Governor George Pataki.
