Bowling Is a Strike in Spadaro's Favor
John Spadaro, a 54-year resident of Westbury, was recently inducted into the New York State Bowling Association Hall of Fame. At the age of 91, Spadaro still bowls two days a week and provides bowling lessons to juniors and seniors four days a week at Garden City Bowl and Sheridan Bowl.

Kenler Retires From Library Board
In 1986, Susan Kenler heard that there was an opening on the Westbury Library Board of Trustees. Having worked for the library as the program coordinator from 1978 to 1983, Kenler felt that she would be an excellent choice to fill that open spot so she immediately went down to the library and applied.

A Historic Year for Westbury Track
For the first time in school history, both the Boys and Girls Track teams at Westbury High School won the Class B County Championships. For the boys team, this marks the fourth county title in a row (indoor/outdoor). For the girls, it is the first time since the 1984-85 school year that they are county champs.

Running for a Cause
Westbury resident and ultra distance runner John Cantwell recently won a six-hour race in Queens. Cantwell ran the 38.25-mile race in six hours on a two mile loop course. The race was sponsored by Vitality Spa and Fitness in Westbury where Cantwell works as a personal trainer.
