New Assembly Lines Result in Elimination of Local District
The Republican Party recently nominated New York State Assemblywoman Donna Ferrara of Westbury to run for a newly reapportioned 15th Assembly District (A.D.) Ferrara, who is the current assemblywoman of the 15th A.D., was selected over Marc Herbst, current assemblyman for the 14th A.D. She will run for re-election this November against Democratic candidate James Buonagura of Hicksville.

Protesters: Hannon Holds Health Bill Hostage
More than 50 Lyme disease patients, toting lime green signs, rallied in front of Senator Kemp Hannon's office in Westbury last Wednesday afternoon, chanting, "Senator Hannon hear our pleas! We need your help to fight Lyme disease! Senator Hannon pay attention! Lyme disease needs intervention!"

Runners leave the starting gate during the Westbury-Carle Place Rotary Club's First Spring Sprint held in April 1988. The Rotary Club will hold its 14th Annual Spring Sprint on Saturday, June 8. The 3.1 mile run will begin at the Church of the Advent and there will also be a one-mile Fun Run. Bulldogs Head to Playoffs
The Salisbury Bulldogs split a doubleheader on May 26 to finish the regular season 10-4. The games were played against Monty's Misfits at their field in Blue Point.
