Dorothy M. Miller, longtime resident of Westbury, passed away May 7, 2002. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and a dedicated and committed worker in the Westbury community. She was always ready to give of herself to support her family, friends and associates. Services were held at the First Baptist Church of Westbury. Lore Fiore (nee Schumacher), of Carle Place, died on April 26, 2002. Wife of Vincenzo J. Mother of Caryn Ferencevic (Tom) and Susan Abbate (Joe). Grandmother of Danielle and Tommy. Sister of Horst Schumacher. Arrangements were made by the Cecere Funeral Home, Carle Place. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Gerald V. Shields, 84, of Westbury, died on April 27, 2002. Husband of the late Marie R. Father of the late Gerard V. Shields Jr. and Anne Marie Walsh (Patrick), Donald R. Shields and Joseph M. Shields (Susan). Grandfather of Thomas and Matthew Walsh, Kevin, Finnian and Liam, Ryan, Kelly and Connor Shields. Brother of Marie and Jane. Arrangements were made by the Wantagh Abbey. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brigid's RC Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
