I wish to thank the Westbury Library's voters for two unprecedented events that occurred during the Tuesday, April 9 election of a new library trustee and the proposed annual budget.

First, the total number of voters reached an all-time high for annual l\ibrary elections - over 570 voters. It is gratifying that the election and issues interested so many. Second, as a challenger to an incumbent trustee, I am thankful the election was won by a margin of 114 votes, 335 to 221 (a 60 percent majority). I believe a majority of votes was cast for me in all library election districts. Again, so many give your time and attention. I thank you for your widespread and enthusiastic support.

Finally, my family, friends and I also thank all those who aided and advised me. After 33 years of community involvement in Westbury, I am honored and grateful that this campaign aroused so much interest and gave me the opportunity to serve my community as a library trustee for the next five years.
