Helen Maloney-Austin died on Dec. 25, 2001, in LaVerne, CA, at age 95. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on April 6, 2002 for Helen, the beloved mother of Madelyn Maloney DiMugno of Penn Valley, CA; Helen Maloney Farnan of Bayport, LI, and Judy Maloney Farnan of LaVerne. She was the cherished family matriarch of numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Burial of her ashes will follow the Mass, in the family plot, at Holy Rood Cemetery. Helen, a longtime resident of Westbury, was an active member of the community. She served as secretary to St. Brigid's parish during the 1950s. When her health declined in recent years she moved to California to be closer to her daughters. Charles F. Pegusky Sr., of Carle Place, died on March 4, 2002. Husband of the late Helen (nee Bucko). Father of Charles F. Pegusky Jr. (Marilyn) and Barbara Gurule. Grandfather of Lawrence Gurule (Ellen), Lorraine Morrison (Robert), Barbara Clemenza (Anthony), Charles F. Pegusky III and Patricia Dwyer (Steve). Brother-in-law of Mary Bucko, Dorothy Aquilino (Sal) and Ann Robins (Tom). Arrangements were made by the Cecere Funeral Home, Carle Place. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Hope RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Solomon D. Siegel, formerly of Westbury, died on March 6, 2002. Husband of Pearl. Father of Susan Kolpen and Larry Siegel. Father-in-law of Jeff and Merryl. Grandfather of Lisa, Jared, Eric, Bryan and Carly. Arrangements were made by Gutterman's Funeral Home, Woodbury.
