On Saturday, Oct. 6, the Wheatley JV and Varsity Girls' Soccer teams sponsored a soccer tournament to raise funds to support the families of those who, heroically, gave their lives in the Twin Towers attack on Sept. 11. Despite a steady rain, soccer teams from six high schools participated in a series of games throughout the morning.
Team members sold commemorative T-shirts, soda and snacks and conducted a raffle of autographed jerseys and pictures donated by the N.Y. Power Women's Professional Soccer Team. The event raised over $2,200.
