The Town of North Hempstead's Department of Public Safety is seeking a high school student intern to work at its Manhasset/Town Hall office. The student should be in their junior or senior year of school and have an interest in the operations of local government.

Department of Public Safety Commissioner Andrew M. Hyman said, "In the past we have been very successful in selecting well-motivated, personable and goal oriented high school students. I encourage anyone with an interest in serving their community to contact us to be considered for this important opportunity."

Prospective applicants for the non-paying student internship position should be mature, knowledgeable about the town, responsible and self-motivated. Students should send a letter of interest or their resume to Assistant Commissioner Shawn Brown by Monday, Nov. 12. The duration of the internship will last approximately eight to 12 weeks.

For more information, you can contact Assistant Commissioner Shawn Brown at the Department of Public Safety at 869-7643 or Browns@northhempstead.com. The Department of Public Safety's Division of Code Enforcement is located at 210 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY 11030.
