Terrorists Destroy Twin Towers
Tuesday, Sept. 11 - At 8:45 a.m. a hijacked American Airlines passenger jet crashed into one of the 110-story Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. 18 minutes later a second hijacked American Airlines passenger jet crashed into the other tower. Both crashes caused firey explosions and within an hour and a half both of the towers collapsed.

A teenage girl from Hicksville was killed in an accident on Salisbury Park Drive, Westbury, last week, when the car in which she was riding struck a tree a few blocks south of Old Country Road.

Westbury's John Cantwell Finishes Second in 100-Mile Race
Westbury resident John Cantwell, a 43-year-old ultra-distance runner and personal trainer, took second place in a field of 50 runners in a 100-mile trek run over the Labor Day weekend. He ran three straight days, 33.3 miles per day, in three different parks in New York City.
