The local Haitian immigrant community was in the spotlight recently, when North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center (NSC&FGC), a Long Island-based children's mental health center that serves numerous Westbury families, held its first Evening of Recognition and Cultural Awareness.

Village of Westbury Launches Website
The mayor and board of trustees of the Village of Westbury launched their first official website at www.villageofwestbury.org. Using software tools provided by website maker govoffice.com, staff created a custom site to provide information about this local village government for residents and visitors. "Together, with hard work and assistance from our employee, Bernadine Ladson, we produced a professional-looking website without the expense of hiring an outside design consultant. As a result the village drafted its own site at a fraction of the cost," remarked Thomas V. Savino, village clerk-treasurer. "This design also allows us to update and maintain the site inexpensively and with relative ease."
