Tom DiNapoli and Tom Suozzi, Democratic candidates for Nassau County Executive, have scheduled three live debates open to the public and sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Nassau County. "These are excellent opportunities to hear their views prior to the Sept. 11 primary," said Nassau League President Carole Shahda Geraci. The public is invited to attend all three debates.

The first debate will be broadcast live on WLIR radio (92.7 FM) on Monday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 7 p.m. See the candidates debate in person or tune in on your radio. The debate will take place at their studio at the Vanderbilt, 1600 Round Swamp Road, just south of the LIE at Exit 48 in Plainview. There will be a panel from the media, but every fourth question will be a write-in question from the public. Questions for the candidates must be submitted in advance. Send them to Ron Morey, 1103 Stewart Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530 or log onto the station's website at WLIR.COM and find the link for the radio debate.

The second debate will be on Monday, Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hewlett-Woodmere Library, 1125 Broadway, in Hewlett.

The third debate will be on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of Our Saviour Lutheran, 1901 Northern Boulevard in Manhasset.

The League of Women Voters is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots organization encouraging participation in government. For more information, call the Nassau County League at 682-5044.
