County Legislator Richard J. Nicolello (R-New Hyde Park) Legislator Dennis Dunne, Sr. (R-Levittown) and Legislator Norma Gonsalves, (R-East Meadow) are reminding residents that swimming pool safety must be a priority. "All it takes is just a few seconds for a child to drown," said Nicolello. "I urge all residents to take the following precautions as outlined by the Department of Health."

They caution the following:

Don't

* Leave children unattended, not even for a few seconds, not to answer the phone, not to answer the door, not to get something, not for anything!

Do:

* Make sure your pool is fenced around all four sides and locked.

* Make sure an adult is always present and watching.

* Make sure a phone is located near the pool.

* Learn CPR.
