Post Avenue Getting a Makeover
Efforts to revitalize Post Avenue in Westbury are gaining momentum, The Westbury Business Improvement District reported this week. Working in conjunction with Nassau County's Operation Downtown program, the Village of Westbury and the BID are currently working to fast-track an ongoing facade makeover program, according to Geraldine Sweeney, executive director of the BID.

Sacco Earns Three Varsity Lacrosse Letters
Christopher Sacco, a resident of Westbury and a 1998 graduate of W.T. Clarke High School, was a member of the 2001 Eastern Connecticut State University Lacrosse program. A junior, he has earned three varsity letters in the program.

Making Swimming Pool Safety a Priority
County Legislator Richard J. Nicolello (R-New Hyde Park) Legislator Dennis Dunne, Sr. (R-Levittown) and Legislator Norma Gonsalves, (R-East Meadow) are reminding residents that swimming pool safety must be a priority. "All it takes is just a few seconds for a child to drown," said Nicolello. "I urge all residents to take the following precautions as outlined by the Department of Health."
