The Veterans Memorial Park Pool in East Meadow is receiving a revolutionary vinyl surface that will save the Department of Parks and Recreation thousands of dollars in maintenance costs, Town of Hempstead Councilman Gary Hudes has announced. The product is called RenoSys and is applied by Aquatic Renovations Systems Incorporated, a nationally respected company in the field of pool design. Their flexible PVC surface is successfully being used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's astronaut training pools, high use pools at Jones Beach State Park and about 17,000 customers worldwide.

"Workers from Aquatic Renovations System are currently installing the liner at Veterans Memorial Park Pool," said Hudes. "The completion is set for late spring, which means the Veterans Memorial Park Pool will be ready by summer for the many town residents who visit our facilities."

Since the product has been out it has withstood earthquakes in California, the rigors of heavy public use at Jones Beach, and the demands of NASA. Some of the many benefits that will be realized from using the PVC surface is that the town's Park & Recreation Department will have to spend less money and time on the intensive task of pre-season scraping, patching, and painting. Now all that will be needed is a quick power wash of the pools resilient surface.
