When was the last time you saw them sit down to a nutritious meal? Have you ever looked into their pantry to see what food they had on hand? Would they be able to get out of the house to pick up free food?

If you have never asked, now is the time to act. You can become a proxy for them and pick up their free supplemental food each month at the Catholic Charities Food & Nutrition (FAN) program.

FAN distributes food to approximately 12,000 low-income seniors throughout Long Island each month. A New York state resident senior, 60 years old or older, who meets financial guidelines, (e.g. a single senior with an annual income of less than $11,167) will qualify.

If you know of anyone needing FAN support or who would like to become a proxy for a friend or family member, please call 516-623-4568 in Nassau or 631-491-4166 in Suffolk.
