Improvements Slated for Veterans Memorial Park Pool
The Veterans Memorial Park Pool in East Meadow is receiving a revolutionary vinyl surface that will save the Department of Parks and Recreation thousands of dollars in maintenance costs, Town of Hempstead Councilman Gary Hudes has announced. The product is called RenoSys and is applied by Aquatic Renovations Systems Incorporated, a nationally respected company in the field of pool design. Their flexible PVC surface is successfully being used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's astronaut training pools, high use pools at Jones Beach State Park and about 17,000 customers worldwide.

Carle Place Honors Coach Dyer
Coach Dyer has dedicated over 30 years to the Carle Place wrestling program. He has coached middle school teams and has served for 26 years as the varsity head coach. Over the years, Dyer coached several county place winners. His leadership paved the way for his two most recent conference championships in 1993 and 1997. Coach Dyer was recently presented an award for his continued service to the "Frogs." The award was presented at the intermission of a match against Friends Academy. This was also a special night for Carle Place Wrestling initiating the first annual alumni match. The match was attended by more than 100 fans, which included over 30 alumni from CP wrestling. Alumni traveled from all over including California, Pennsylvania and Virginia to honor their former coach.
