The upcoming luncheon honoring the original Tuskegee Airman, Westbury's own Lieutenant Colonel Spann Watson, promises to be the affair of the year for the Central Westbury Civic Association (CWCA). The membership and many notables are planning to attend this momentous event. The program will feature presentations by many of Lieutenant Colonel Watson's friends, including the Mayor of Hempstead, James Garner, Assemblyman David Sidikman and Hempstead Town Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby. Additional information pertaining to the presenters will be listed in the next issue of the CWCA Bulletin.

The program will feature Ann Marie Hudley Simmons and James Burton, who will render some of Lieutenant Colonel Watson's favorite musical selections. Of special significance will be the presentation of the distinguished CWCA Community Service Award in recognition of the many services Watson has rendered to his country, community and humankind. The award was designed by Mannie Sweat and Gary Monti.

A standing invitation is open to all residents of Westbury and the surrounding communities to come and share in saluting and honoring our legend - an original Tuskegee Airman, Lieutenant Colonel Spann Watson. Join us at the International Buffet, Stewart Avenue, Garden City, on June 16, from noon to 3:30 p.m. Please contact Mannie Sweat, president, CWCA, at 333-1290, or Lois Cobb, vice-president, at 333-2009 for tickets.
