Richard Fenster Makes an Incredible Journey Home
Just a little more than a month ago, Carle Place resident Richard Fenster set out, quite determined, on a quest to help sick children in need of heart surgery. His aim was to complete an incredible 1,100 mile journey on foot from Florida to New York to raise money and awareness for the Rotary Gift of Life Program, which provides life-saving heart surgery for needy children from around the world.

The sky may have looked a little gray, but there was nothing but smiles on the faces of more than 265 little leaguers, softball players, and senior leaguers, as they marched up Post Avenue recently for the annual Westbury Little League Parade. The opening day parade heralds the beginning of a new season.

Westbury Resident Named 'Athlete of the Week'
Cara LiMongelli, a resident of Westbury, was recently named Athlete of the Week at the State University of New York at Oneonta. This rookie pitcher shined in helping the Red Dragons earn back-to-back weekend splits against Geneseo and Brockport. In the four games overall, she appeared in three of them with one start and picked up two wins in the process.
