Long Island Children Receive Belt Promotions
Children attending the Young Children's Program at Charles Water's Karate & Fitness, located in Williston Park, received belt promotions this month. The young children's program is one of four beginner classes at the school. Charles Water's program instills the values that we all want for our children. These students learn age appropriate self defense, hand, eye and foot coordination as well as the ability to focus and listen. These are all lifelong lasting qualities that build the foundation for success. These children are given the tools to be on a quest to be their best.
Westbury High School Dragons Upset Valley Stream South
On Feb. 11, at the Indoor County Track Championships at Farmingdale University, the Westbury High School Dragons stepped off the bus ready to give all that they had. The team was anticipating an optimal performance by their leading runner Fillippe Francis. Favored to win the high hurdles and score the most points on his team, Fillippe felt ready to lead his team as far as he could. However, Coach Ross made it evident that everyone would have to work if they wanted to win this championship.
