On any given week, a look around the greater Westbury area reveals a steady, sincere interest by residents in community affairs. This week, for example, more than 140 people gathered to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in New Cassel, and last week Carle Place residents took an active role in the school district's pursuit of library services. In both cases, The Westbury Times was able to cover these important events, because our active, fellow citizens let us know about them. This newspaper appreciates, and welcomes, this type of valuable communication. As your community newspaper, we continue to welcome your correspondence, editorial and photo contributions featuring local people and happenings, as well as your written opinions. We are proud to serve as Westbury's local newspaper since 1907, and we encourage you to continue to be our partners in keeping the local community in the spotlight.
