New Year Brings Tax Changes for Local Residents
The new year will bring a range of tax changes for local residents, with relief coming from the state in the form of more than $1.9 billion in new state tax cuts, but, simultaneously, an estimated nine percent increase in county property taxes.
Westbury Amateur Baseball Association Holding Registration
The Westbury Amateur Baseball Association (WABA) is currently holding its annual spring registration for baseball (boys & girls) and softball (girls only), for youngsters ages 5-15. Registration will be at the Village of Westbury Recreation Center on Post Avenue from 10 a.m. to 12 noon every Saturday in January. A registration fee of $65 per child ($50 for siblings) will be collected at sign-up. First-time members must bring valid proof of age (such as a birth certificate).
