Approximately 30 local children, ranging in age from pre-school to teenagers, enjoyed a holiday party hosted by Robert Chevrolet in Hicksville Tuesday, Dec. 19. The children, all from the Westbury Salvation Army, enjoyed a pizza dinner and special visit from none other than himself, Santa Claus. A magician on hand made balloon gifts for all the children and entertained them with a magic show.
Santa, who arrived on the Hicksville Fire Department's antique engine, had gifts for all in his sack. Also, more gifts had packed the back of a Chevy pick-up. A four-piece combo entertained with Christmas songs and Robert Chevrolet Sales Manager Scott Brown and his wife, Eve, passed out song sheets for Christmas caroling. Robert Brown, Scott's father and Robert Chevrolet owner, was also on hand.
Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto stopped by to wish all a happy holiday and present Robert Chevrolet with a town citation, commending them for their contribution to the children of the community. Likewise, the Salvation Army also presented Brown and his wife with a token of appreciation, saying, "the gifts received tonight may be the only gift they receive this year."
Robert Chevrolet employees again helped out during the company's second annual holiday party, which Brown said was another success.
