Tiffany Fields of Westbury will play for the William Smith College basketball team this season. The Herons, 22-6-0 in 1999-2000, return six letter winners and are 2-1 through three games this year. Fields, a graduate of St. Dominic's High School, Oyster Bay, is a sophomore guard.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges are two private, coordinate institutions of higher learning in the liberal arts located along the western shore of Seneca Lake in Geneva, NY. Hobart College was founded in 1822 and currently enrolls 873 men. William Smith College for women was founded in 1908 and currently enrolls 955 women. The coordinate system allows the two colleges to share faculty and facilities and provide co-educational classes. However, each college awards its own degrees, has its own dean and admissions office, and maintains its own student government and athletics programs.
