Joe Passeriello, who was an employee of the Carle Place Water District for 17 years, is a candidate for the position of Commissioner of the Carle Place Water District in the election to be held on Dec. 12.
I am writing on behalf of my deceased husband, Anthony ("Sonny") Marano, who was Superintendent of the Carle Place Water District for 28 years, before his untimely death in 1994. I can assure you that my husband would, most certainly, be in support of Joe's candidacy, based on his personal admiration for Joe, and the fact that Joe was a superb employee who was deeply concerned for all the members of the community, just as, some of you may remember, Sonny was. Sonny was proud of the fact that he had been a "mentor" to Joe who encouraged him as an employee to successfully complete all the tests and requirements to attain the qualifications to be the next superintendent. However, inasmuch as Sonny was young when be became superintendent and his term in office was expected to be long-term, Joe decided to move on to another Superintendent's position (with Sonny's encouragement). He became superintendent of Mineola Water District for 5 years and then in Plainview Water District for 3 years, when he was recruited by Jericho Water District, which position he has held for the past 9 years. As a result of all this experience, Joe has attained the expertise and qualifications required to make him an excellent commissioner which is what he hopes to attain in Carle Place. Joe will be retiring soon from his position in Jericho and wants very much to return to his "home base" of Carle Place to serve his community.
I urge you to vote for Joe on Dec. 12, with the full confidence that you will be voting for a man who has your best interests at heart as a longtime resident of Carle Place, the interest of the employees of the Carle place Water District, based on personal experience, and the support of my husband, who as many of you know, always wanted only the best for you!
Thank you, in advance, for your support.
Marie Marano
