Italian social organizations have long thrived in Westbury, a traditional center of Italian-Americans in Nassau County. Now, a local group of Italian-American young adults are aiming to keep their cultural heritage alive, while establishing their own identity in the community, through the formation of a new social club, known as Il Circolo Di Amici (The Circle of Friends). Students from Charles Water's Karate & Fitness, located at 122 Hillside Avenue in Williston Park, recently participated in a National Karate Tournament and several Westbury residents came away winners.
