Charles Water's Karate & Fitness, the martial arts school in Williston Park which has several students from Westbury and Carle Place, this week announced the results of its third tournament for the Karatatots. Karatot is a program designed specifically for pre-schoolers age four and older.

The Karatot program includes children from Westbury and Carle Place. The competition provided students with the opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have developed through their training.

"Mr. Water developed this program 14 years ago so that children could benefit from the ancient learnings of the martial arts. In a fulfilled and nurturing atmosphere, children increase their listening and directional skills along with their hand-eye coordination," noted a spokesperson for the karate school.

The spokesperson added, "The children at this tournament displayed courage as they stood before their family and friends and performed various kicks, blocks and combo's to demonstrate their techniques before the judges. One of the most important aspects of learning these moves is the ability to feel confident that you can accomplish any goal you set your mind on. These movements become a part of you, they are a reflection of how you stand, how you react, and how you treat other people."
