Volleyball players and parents came together on a sunny Saturday in July to hold their Annual Craft/Garage Sale and Car Wash at Carle Place High School. The event is sponsored by the girls volleyball teams and organized by the parents to raise funds for travel, warm-ups, T-shirts, and other expenses not covered by the school budget.
The Carle Place High School varsity volleyball team has had a very exciting and successful number of years. They have competed in the New York State Volleyball Championships in Class C for four of the past five years, and they have placed first twice. During the past six years, the team has won the Nassau County title and competed at the regional level.
The volleyball program continues to grow under the leadership of varsity coach Tracy Nelson and junior varsity coach Rafael Chong. There were more than 40 girls trying out for spots on the 2000 varsity and junior varsity teams. The girls and coaches are looking forward to another exciting and exceptional season.
