Andrew Gerraputa of Carle Place was among the children attending the Young Children's Program at Charles Water's Karate & Fitness, in Williston Park, who received promotions this month.

The young children's program is one of four beginner classes at the school. Through the Charles Water's program, the children learn age appropriate self-defense, hand, eye and foot coordination as well as the ability to focus and listen. These are all lifelong lasting qualities that build a foundation for success, noted a representative of the school, adding that the children are given the tools to do their best."
Water, owner and director of the school said, "The goal at Hwang Karate is to facilitate mental grown enabling the students to reach their highest potential as human beings. The studio teaches students how to defend themselves responsibly while instilling self-confidence, self-discipline and respect for others."
