Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) recently named Legislative assistant Robert Green to the Nassau County Sports Commission to serve as the legislature's representative.

Green, 28, a graduate of Nassau Community College and currently attending the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, will act as the liaison between the legislature and the Nassau County Sports Commission.

"I am honored that Ms. Jacobs has the confidence to appoint me to this position. I have been involved in athletics all my life and I look forward to becoming an active participant in developing athletics in Nassau County."

Green, a Westbury resident, has been involved with recreational activities for more than 20 years, first as an athlete at W.T. Clarke High School and most recently as a coach in the Central Nassau Athletic Association. Green is currently in his final semester at C.W. Post where he majors in business marketing.
