East Stroudsburg University seniors Kristin Restivo and Megan Macauley were recently named Division II Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association All-Americans.
Restivo, who hales from Westbury, earned first team honors for the second straight season as an at-large selection. She led NCAA Division II in scoring with 72 goals in 16 games for a 4.5 goals-per-game average. The 5-8 third home broke her own school record of 56 goals in a season, set in 1999. Restivo also set the ESU record for career goals with 189, 40 more than the previous record set by Ann Clifton from 1983-86.
Macauley, a 5-9 second home from Doylestown, Pa., was an at-large selection on the second team. She finished second on the team and tenth in the nation in goals scored with 52 and in points with 70. Her 18 assists increased her school record to 66 career assists.
Restivo, who was recently honored as ESU's Senior Female Athlete of the Year, also tallied 15 assists, giving her 87 points for an average of 5.5 per game. That figure placed her second in the nation. She scored four or more goals in 13 of the team's 16 games. She had a high of seven goals in victories over Shippensburg and Lock Haven and had six goals in two other games.
The senior tandem helped lead the Warriors to a school-record 11 wins and a berth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship game. Restivo was honored as PSAC Player of the Year, and Macauley was a first team all-conference selection.
