'Mask Project' to Benefit Westbury Nonprofit
The original Mask Project took place in Tel Aviv, where a million dollars was raised for a school for handicapped children. Prince Charles held the second event in London, where he raised $250,000 for charity. Now the Mask Project comes to New York, where it will support the Charity Care Programs of the Home Care and Hospice services of the Catholic Health Services of Long Island, including Westbury-based Nursing Sisters Home Care. Good Samaritan Home Care, Good Samaritan Hospice, Mercy Hospice, and St. Charles Hospice will also benefit.

Westbury Dragons Culminate Championship Season
The Westbury Green Dragons boy's basketball team completed their best season for four years with a Nassau Class B Championship and an impressive 20-4 record. After capturing the Class B Championship vs. Glen Cove, the team fell to two formidable opponents: Hempstead in the Nassau Championship game two weeks ago, and Amityville in the Long Island Championship game held last Saturday at Nassau Community College.

Westbury Resident Wins Wrestling Qualifier
Congratulation to Westbury resident Michael Mitkowski, the son of Marc and Camille Lupa for winning the Wrestling Qualifier for the National Open Wrestling Championships to be held in Birmingham, AL July 2-4. This past season, Michael was selected for the second year in a row as an All County Wrestler from Jericho High School. He concluded his season with a 34-4 record at the 103 lbs. weight class. Michael hopes to represent his school and community in capable fashion on the national level.
