The Westbury High School Varsity Basketball Team defeated Glen Cove 66-57 in the Class B championship played at Farmingdale High School. Outstanding breakaways by junior Richard Hall and the jump shooting of senior Danny Owusu were key factors in Westbury's victory. Above all, it was the spirited teamwork that began the season which carried them through this important game. The interplay of spirited romp by the Westbury High School Cheerleading Team and a large devoted Westbury fan base certainly bolstered team confidence throughout the evening. The win qualifies the team for the Long Island Championships to be played against Amityville High School at noon March 11 at Nassau Community College.
