Months before the fall season began, Carle Place was seeded No. 1 in Conference IV. The task of being seeded first is simple - you play all of the top eight teams in your conference. Unfortunately for Carle Place, they were limited by a small JV varsity turnout which meant that many of the players were forced to play on both offense and defense. This always takes its toll on the team and probably was the greatest obstacle that the coaching staff had to overcome. Nevertheless, their execution of the Delaware Wing T offense to perfection, as well as the outstanding individual efforts of the players, enabled the Frogs to drive to their goal, playing for a County Championship.
Carle Place - 41 vs. Friends Academy - 0
"A total domination of a big Quaker team."
Carle Place - 28 vs. Locust Valley - 15
"The offensive line does an outstanding job opening up huge holes, as the FROGS gain 400 yards on the ground."
Carle Place - 7 vs. Roosevelt - 41
"The Rough Riders' halfback Jerome Pettus (All-time leading rusher in Nassau County history) gains 180 yards and throws an option pass for a touchdown - proves too much."
Carle Place - 18 vs. Cold Spring Harbor - 35
"The Seahawks had upset Roosevelt earlier and after a tough 6-3 first half deficit, the Frogs stumbled in the second half, as the Seahawks played their best football of the season."
Carle Place - 27 vs. East Rockaway - 27
"Marasco battles the Rock's Kelly and both teams battle to the end - as the game fittingly ends in a tie."
Carle Place - 20 vs. Malverne - 18
"Homecoming heroics with just 22 seconds remaining as Sheridan hooks up with Petrizzo in the end zone to secure a much needed 20-18 victory over the Mules."
Carle Place - 49 vs. Manhasset - 13
"The Frogs manhandled the Indians and dominate their opponents on both sides of the ball."
Carle Place - 34 vs. Valley Stream South - 55
"A tough day on defense against a big, talented Falcon offensive unit."
Carle Place (No. 4 seed) - 42 vs. Cold Spring Harbor (No. 1 seed) - 21
"The Frogs trounced the undefeated Seahawks (8-0), totally dominating the game as the combination of Marasco (126 yards), Matarazzo (147 yards), Sheridan, Fox and the rest of the offensive and defensive units made this one of the best efforts in years for our football program."
Carle Place - 21 vs. Roosevelt - 36
"One of the best high school football games in years that had a little bit of everything. Unfortunately, the eventual Rutgers Cup recipients, the Rough Riders, squeaked out the win." (Note: Seniors Marc Matarazzo and Anthony Marasco respectively earned the "Defensive" and "Offensive" MVP Awards).

Footnote: This was a football team that had to overcome a relatively small turnout for the fall season, coupled with early injuries, and a very tough schedule. Nevertheless, hard work and huge hearts and excellent coaching enabled this team to battle right to the very end - almost beating the Rutgers Cup team from Roosevelt. It is a season that all Carle Place football fans can be proud of and remember fondly.
