(The following letter was sent to Commissioner John Waltz, Nassau County Department of Public Works. It is being reprinted here at the author's request.)

Our association has received many complaints that the Nassau County Department of Public Works construction project between Sunrise Highway and Southern State Parkway terminates all traffic on Newbridge Rd. during daytime hours for both north and southbound traffic.

Many residents are inconvenienced by this practice of stopping all traffic on Newbridge Rd. It also directly affects the business community on this roadway.

If possible, please consider the following:

1. Expedite the construction project.

2. Permit at least one lane of traffic to take place on Newbridge Rd.

Also, please provide the following information:

1. When is the project scheduled to be completed?

2. What percentage of the project has been completed?

3. Why has the project been delayed and the scheduled completion date extended?

Please look into this matter on behalf of the residents of our community.
