The East Meadow Civic Association is pleased to announce that the final tests and inspections of the new roof top fans on the Medical Examiners Building at the Nassau County Medical Center were conducted Dec. 28, 1999. Representatives from key civic associations, the East Meadow Fire Department, the legislature, the Department of Public Works and the HVAC contractor were all present and gave a big "thumbs up" for the quietness and smoothness of the new fans' operation.

For several months, these new fans had been a major source of annoyance to neighbors and the neighborhood due to their excessive noise and vibrations. That problem has now been resolved.

We express our thanks to County Executive Gulotta, Public Works Commissioner Waltz and his top engineers, and Legislator Gonsalves for their cooperation and assistance in rectifying this problem
