Ernest Strada, mayor of the Village of Westbury, and Thomas Savino, village clerk, traveled recently to Albany with other village officials from the Nassau County Village Officials Association (NCVOA) to attend the annual legislative meeting sponsored by the New York Conference of Mayors and Municipal Officials (NYCOM). Neighborhood House in Westbury was the scene of much holiday cheer Dec. 23, as volunteers from the Westbury Neighborhood Association, Inc. gave away hundreds of new and "gently used" toys to needy families. Carle Place High School senior Anthony Marasco was selected to the All-Long Island football team by Newsday Sports. The last Frogs to earn All-Long Island honors were Craig Carroll in the fall of 1995 and Kevin Koch in the fall of 1987. Tim Moran was voted to the All-New York State Second Team in the fall of 1993. Senior Anne-Marie McGintee was selected as Carle Place High School's 12th recipient of the prestigious EAB/News 12 Scholar-Athlete Award. News 12's sports reporter Carle Reuter visited Carle Place High School and filmed Anne-Marie at work in the classroom and as a participant in many of her extra-curricular activities.
