    Westbury High School's First Fall Sports Award Night was part of a design by Stuart Friedman to pay homage to student athletes after the end of each season rather than at the end of the school year. Friedman, district director of athletics for Westbury schools, was optimistic about the effect the event would have for the student athletes. "I thought that if we have awards nights at the end of the fall, winter and spring seasons, the students would enjoy it better than waiting until the end of the year to be recognized," said Friedman.
