I would like to express my profound gratitude to the people of North Hempstead for returning me to office as councilwoman. Although I have served in several government positions, none have offered me the gratification of my present one. My experience and knowledge of government has allowed me to approach little known resources, that may otherwise be obscure, to solve problems.

With the help of our residents, who bring problems to my attention and many times partner with me in creating solutions and accepting compromise, much can be accomplished and will, in the future, continue to be accomplished.

I would also like to thank my running mates Supervisor May Newburger, Councilman Anthony D'Urso, Receiver Ann Galante, Michele Schimmel and Judge John Reardon for their coordinated effort in improving the quality of life for this town and its citizens. Our accomplishments are a team effort and it is good to see everyone jointly elected to office.

I welcome any resident to contact me, either in person or by phone at 869-7698 or by e-mail at Doreen Banks_@Juno.com.

Doreen E. Banks

Councilwoman, Town of North Hempstead
