Assemblywoman Donna Ferrara (R-C, Westbury) announced recently that the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau will receive $223,738 in matching funds from the Empire State Development Corporation Division of Tourism to benefit Nassau and Suffolk counties.
"As a member of the Assembly Tourism, Arts and Sports Development Committee, I am pleased to have been instrumental in securing a portion of these legislatively mandated tourism matching funds for Nassau County," said Ferrara.
The funding will be used to assist in initiating and broadening tourism marketing efforts such as advertising, audiovisual and photography production, toll-free 800 phone charges, and mailing costs, as well as other marketing, public relations and research initiatives.
"The 15th Assembly District will be receiving well-deserved help in promoting its seasonal activities and natural beauty. I am very pleased to see our residents and businesses benefit in such a meaningful way," Ferrara said.
