Central Nassau Little League held their annual award ceremony at the Crest Hollow Country Club Oct. 11. Among the teams honored was the Farm Division Phillies sponsored by Bill Denniston of Trailer Transport and managed by Brian Sheehan. The Phillies followed a dominant regular season, in which they compiled an impressive 11-1 record. The season was capped off with a thrilling championship game win.

The Phillies defeated the Rockies 5-3 in a tight game that wasn't decided until the final out. The series M.V.P. Brett Schreiber snared a line drive and dove on second base to double up the runner and strand the tying runs on base. Brian Kjellgren had his first hit of the season. Jimmy Mele had a great put out at third. Ryan Sheehan took one for the team and had 2 R.BI.s. Everyone contributed to an exciting win and a great season.
